Under the skilled hands of the House of Rides crew, the custom bobber being built for Ohio Motorcyclists for Children is beginning to look like a motorcycle. The engine and power train are in place in the frame, the forks are installed, and sheet metal has been painted with a beautiful black flame job on marbled gray background. Plans are to debut the bike at the Dayton Cyclefest Motorcycle Expo in Dayton, Ohio on December 4. Raffle tickets will go on sale at that time and a lucky winner will be drawn at Roll On Columbus on May 22, 2010.
Over the last two weeks, major components for the bike that House of Rides is building for Ohio Motorcyclists for Children have arrived. Many have been provided by J&P Cycles. The custom bobber will be powered by a made-in-America Ultima 113 cubic-inch engine, through an Ultima six-speed gearbox to a 200 mm rear tire.
Sheet metal is already in the paint shop for a black and marble-silver flame treatment. The Kustom Werks frame has been detailed and is going out for powder coating today. Steering and front suspension will be through a DNA Specialties chrome springer fork in standard length.
The raffle for this beautiful machine is scheduled to begin early in December and will run through May 22. Ohio Motorcyclists For Children will soon be installing a feature on its web site to allow individuals to purchase tickets via the Internet. We’ll also be posting a schedule where the bobber can be seen at bike nights in Central Ohio. Stay tuned for more details as the project develops.
